Also called cherry guava, evergreen tree, small fruits turn pink-red to burgundy when ripe, sweet and juicy with a pleasant, slightly tangy flavour and a distinct strawberry undertone, rich in vitamin C, potassium, niacin, and antioxidants, Strawberry guava is not invasive in Zambia due to the dry climate. It holds significant economic value as a delicious fresh fruit with health benefits by supporting the immune system and aiding digestive health, as a processed product for items like jam and juice, and as an ornamental plant.
