Rose ‘La France’ is one of the most historically important roses in the world and is widely recognised as the first Hybrid Tea rose, introduced in 1867 by French breeder Jean-Baptiste Guillot. This beautiful variety marked the beginning of modern rose breeding and remains a firm favourite today.
‘La France’ produces large, softly cupped blooms in delicate silvery pink, often with a slightly deeper centre. The flowers are highly fragrant, releasing a classic, rich rose perfume. The bush is upright and well-branched, typically growing to about 1–1.2 m high, making it ideal for garden beds, borders, or as a feature plant. Its elegant flowers are also excellent for cutting.
