Large fruit, dark red skin when fully ripe, dark red arils, sweet, rich flavour and very juicy, soft seeds, good for fresh eating and juicing. Very strong, vigorous, upright growing tree which arching branches, 2‒4 m tall, deciduous, grow best in loamy soil with good drainage, drought tolerant but grows better with a good supply of water, moderate pruning needed for airflow and fruit quality. Recommended tree spacing for Pomegranate ‘Wonderful’ in Zambia is 3m apart in rows and 5m between rows (660 plants per hectare).
